Seattle Washington September 2008

On September 19, 2008, Shane and I met Susie and Tim in Seattle Washington. Seattle is a beautiful city. We stayed on Alkai Island, which is a little west of the city. Shane and I arrived a little early, because like most trips you will read about, Susie and Tim missed their flight. However, Shane and I are normally the ones running down the tar mat when the plane is inching backwards. Makes a good time though. To kill some time Shane and I toured the island a little. We stopped at Dukes. Dukes is a pub, with delicious "killer prawns". Yummo!! We kicked backed and relaxed a little until Susie and Tim arrived.

The next morning we found out that Susie was preggo with Kendra. YAY!! From there we went back down to Dukes for lunch. Then we began our tour of the city. Our first stop was the Public Market Center. So much was going on here. Fresh fish, food of all sorts and lots and lots of people. From here we visited the original Starbucks! Yummo x 2! Susie and I enjoyed this very much. That night we had a small dinner, I believe it was at Dukes again, can you tell we LOVE Dukes?? HA! Following this we headed back into the city and enjoyed a Broadway production of Shrek. This was an awesome experience. Shane and I are now addicted to musicals!

Shane and Tim enjoyed a Seattle Seahawks game while Susie and I shopped it up. It was a little dreary, but hey it's Seattle it ALWAYS rains. We met up with the guys at the ESPN sports bar. They were living it up. The nights plans included a dinner at Salty's. Considering it was Tim's birthday we had to make it special. The food was delicious. Susie had crab legs, Shane had a steak, and I believe Tim and I had some kind of fish...I can't quiet remember.

The next day would be Sunday! We caught a boat ride to Victoria, Canada! Talk about breathtaking. The flowers were BEAUTIFUL! We had lunch at the Empress Castle! Then we caught a tour bus to see the city. After about two hours on the bus, we decided to catch a buggie ride. The guy was pulling us with a bicycle! Pretty cool. The boat ride back down the canal was great. Shane and Tim enjoyed the night air from atop the boat while Susie and I sat in the bottom!

The trip to Seattle was very memorable. However, we lost a loved (Otis) one while we were there and had to cut the trip short. We plan on returning to Seattle very soon to experience it even more!
